Senior Financial Analyst

Under the direct supervision of the Director of FP&A, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for functions of the finance and budgetary process. Using established procedures, this position analyzes departmental and center level fiscal data, programs and operations. This person will also assist departmental management staff and other personnel with financial review and analysis, as well as prepare short and long range projections utilizing forecasting, modeling and financial analytic techniques. 



  • Compiles fiscal data to prepare financial statements and historical comparisons of departmental expenditures. 
  • Maintain and update financial models under the supervision of the Director, FP&A
  • Prepares charts, graphs and diagrams showing prior, current and projected revenues and expenditures to provide a basis for comparison and evaluation.
  • Conducts variance analysis and evaluates/reports on deviations of departmental and center level authorized practices and procedures.
  • Using complex financial concepts, data processing and analytical skills, prepares reports analyzing specific aspects of department structures, functions and operational procedures and recommends ways to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness.
  • Utilizes various computer financial information systems in the preparation of analyses, evaluation and reports relating to assigned areas.
  • Analyzes actual to budget comparisons and provides variance analysis and comments.
  • Utilizes current organization-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Must be an advanced level user in Excel
  • Must have three to five years of experience in a finance role in a corporate setting
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-state environment is preferred
  • Reasonable knowledge of budgetary management and accounting principles
  • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to multiple conflicting priorities, continuously prioritize and reprioritize deliverables and to respond to unexpected changes is required
  • Investment banking or transactional accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite software is preferred
