PROSTHODONTIST DENTAL ASSISTANT

We are seeking a dental assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience and with a prosthodontic background. The Prosthodontist Dental Assistant works under the doctor’s supervision to prepare the treatment rooms, equipment and instruments that will be used in advanced dental implant procedures. The dental assistant should be comfortable working with dental implants and the implant tools used in treatment for the All- On- Four Procedure.

DENTAL ASSISTANT Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direct supervision of the Prosthodontist
  • Perform a variety of patient care, including but not limited to providing chair- side assistance while the doctor examines and treat patients.
  • Ensure patients are as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for their visit by thoroughly reviewing the treatment for the day.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, and instruct patients on post-operative and general oral health care.
  • Prepare materials for dental implant impressions and restorations, take dental x- rays using Dexis X-Ray system.
  • Handle other radiological equipment and assist patients with these procedures as directed by the doctor.
  • Assist the doctor in the specialty area of prosthodontics (replacement of missing teeth), focusing heavily on dental implantology.
  • Help track the inventory of the prosthetic supplies and keep the storage closets organized.

DENTAL ASSISTANT Experience:

  • Certified as a Dental Assistant by the A.D.A.
  • Two years of Dental Assistant experience
  • Dental implant experience, desired
  • Must be reliable and be able to work independently from the doctor when necessary. Manual dexterity is a must.
  • Must be team-oriented and ready to work in a fast- paced learning environment.
  • Must have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
